Interfacial Consultants and Nagase America form Infinite Material Solutions LLC., a joint venture focusing on the 3D printing space

NEW YORKand WISCONSIN–A joint venture involving Nagase America, a multinational manufacturer-distributor of raw materials and specialty chemicals, and Interfacial Consultants a Wisconsin based firm focused on creating highly differentiated technology platforms, will embark on a joint venture combining unique capabilities to provide innovative materials to the additive manufacturing industry. The joint venture, newly named Infinite Material Solutions, will focus on development and distribution of novel chemistry and materials to support the advancement of high-tech 3D printing, specifically targeting niche manufacturing applications.

Dr. Jeffrey Cernohous, President at Interfacial Consultants, commented, “I am very excited about its potential for the development of novel market offerings to the additive manufacturing market. This platform of offerings speaks to the core of what we do at Interfacial Consultants, and we are very pleased to have Nagase America, a reputable and forward-thinking partner, in this high-profile project.”

“For several years we have been working to analyze market needs and connect innovative chemistry to the products of tomorrow. This opportunity allows us to bolster our efforts to bring to market high-value materials in partnership with the team at Interfacial Consultants, a well-regarded group of materials strategists,” said BradleyHilborn, Director of Business Development at Nagase America.

The joint venture marks an important strategic partnership between the two firms, who are looking to grow their portfolio to the global additive manufacturing community. Key assets from both companies have been developed closely over the last year to produce a high-temperature water soluble 3D printing support material that significantly reduces the cost and time of downstream processing for PEEK and PEI printing materials. Infinite Material Solutions will continue to develop novel solutions and to diversify its portfolio further via carefully selected investments.
